REVOK: Ordinary Things at the Library Street Collective
On Friday, November 2, Library Street Collective presented their newest exhibit by renowned graffiti and fine artist REVOK, “Ordinary Things.” Each work consists of material cultivated and cultured in the city of Detroit, many from individual addresses.
It was a packed house with a red carpet and photographers shooting the guests. They had already run out of the free alcohol, an art show staple, by the time we arrived. Nearly all of the pieces were sold during the evening and there was definitely a buzz in the room.
Library Street Collective recently added Matthew Eaton to curate the gallery. Eaton already curates the Red Bull House of Art in Eastern Market and is the co-director of the Detroit Beautification Project. If his inaugural show with Library Street Collective is any indication, we can expect great shows there in the future.
REVOK “Ordinary Things” will be at the gallery until January 26, 2013.
