On November 28th the Cafe Con Leche pop-up in Lafayette Park hosted an event inviting citizens of Detroit to voice their opinions and ideas about what can be done with the vast number of vacant and blighted properties in the city.
The baristas were preparing coffee drinks as fast as they possibly could for the standing-room only crowd which listened to remarks from the creators of the Why Don't We Own This, representatives from the treasury, and members of the audience.
The attendees seemed very engaged in solving one of the major problems hindering the city from continuing on the trajectory towards a "comeback".
